Frankenstardust
I'd bought a book on old Halloween collectibles around this time last year. Then, in late December/early January, I began compiling reference material for these posts. As I was looking at a picture of Boris Karloff from Bride of Frankenstein, a David Bowie song started playing on the radio. I don't remember which song it was (I think it was TVC 15--one of my favorites). But, as I stared at the picture of Karloff, I thought he looked a lot like Bowie on the cover of Aladdin Sane. There is a certain similarity there. The scar playing against the lightening bolt was particularly noticeable. Thinking of the title track to another Bowie album, Scary Monsters, I got the idea to combine the two faces. The end result was Frankenstardust and the title for this entire project. . .
